Maryland MVA handbooks

The MVA publishes a handbook for each written test. Every question on the Maryland knowledge tests comes from them, so read the one for your license before practicing.

How to study with the handbook

  1. Read the chapters on signs, right-of-way and safe driving first: they are the bulk of every test.
  2. Note the numbers specific to Maryland: speed limits, alcohol limits, points and teen license rules.
  3. Take a practice test, and go back to the handbook for every question you miss.
